About the Partnership

The Newstead Abbey Partnership is a charity dedicated to protecting and celebrating the legacy of one of Nottinghamshire’s most treasured historic sites

Why We Exist

Newstead Abbey has inspired generations with its architecture, stories, and landscape. As a registered charity, our mission is to work alongside Nottingham City Council to ensure this remarkable place continues to
thrive — through conservation and community engagement.

We believe heritage is not just about the past. It’s about creating a shared future grounded in history, culture, and place.

Our Work includes contributing to:

  • Restoring and preserving the Abbey and its grounds
  • Supporting historical research and interpretation
  • Hosting public events, talks, and exhibitions
  • Working with volunteers and local organisations
  • Advocating for the long-term protection of the site
