Newstead Abbey is more than a historic building — it’s a living reminder of centuries of art, faith, and transformation. Originally founded as a 12th century priory, the site has evolved through the hands of poets, nobles, and preservationists. Today, the Newstead Abbey Partnership plays a vital role in continuing that story, ensuring the Abbey’s legacy endures for generations to come.
The Newstead Abbey Partnership was founded to ensure that the Abbey’s rich history continues to be celebrated, protected, and shared. From restoration projects to community initiatives, this timeline highlights the key milestones in our journey as a charity — and the growing impact we’ve had in preserving Newstead Abbey for generations to come.
